There is a portal here that goes directly into Darnassus, and a pier for a docking boat to Auberdine in Darkshore. There is also a hippogryph roost. With the Cataclysm, Menethil Harbor was partially flooded but continued to be inhabited.

The docks now float and sandbags are set up throughout the town. You can get to Darnassus from Stormwind Harbor via ship! Go to the Stormwind Docks. The dock to Darnassus is the southernmost most I believe; double check with the captain. Since the release of Cataclysm, Horde players can reach Teldrassil via flying mount from northern Darkshore. Darnassus is the capital town of the Night Elves of the Alliance.
